2011 is the year that Sophisticated Yum will officially be launching itself into the world of sweet event styling and design so what better way to do this than with a celebration on New Year’s Eve. Inspired by Anders Ruff’s Hollywood glam NYE printables, the design used black, teal and a touch of pink.

It was a perfect day with the sun shining and a slight breeze in the air. A gorgeous bride, a dapper groom, both totally in love with each other. You could see it in their eyes, their smiles and in their first kiss as husband and wife! What a privilege it was to share that special day with Nia + Johan.
As frequent beach goers, Nia + Johan chose to incorporate a marine theme into their wedding along with a touch of vintage. As the reception was going to be held at Akuna Bay marina, it was certainly fitting. To keep the reception and afternoon teas fresh and unique, I decided to focus on the vintage look for the afternoon tea. As it was a fun and casual affair, I came up with a summery vintage inspired picnic setting, complete with picnic baskets and gingham tablecloths in a gorgeous yellow.
The table was filled with delicious goodies, both sweet and savoury and the kitchen was a hive of frenzy as family and friends worked hard to keep the hungry tummies filled. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to capture the table complete with food, there were just too many people!
